Make Me An Oak

Make me an “oak of righteousness”.

Make me an oak God. My eyes have beheld the oak. Tough, coarse deeply ribbed bark is not only sculpture, it is highly fire resistant.DSC_0192sig Cover me with your righteous armor to resist the fiery attacks of the enemy of my soul.

Oak trees can live 100-600 years in favorable conditions. Grant me a long-life of service for you God.

Oak trees have root systems that spread 4-7 times wider than the crown of the tree above ground that access water. Spread my spiritual roots broadly into your word. Teach me to pray, grant me your strength.

The wood of an oak is dense, hard, and strong.DSC_0193sig Strengthen me with power of an oak that my life would be a testimony for you. May others call me an “oak of righteousness”.

Isaiah 61:3b …that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
